Who is Patty Sorrells?

            Patty Sorrells is a...

                        Counselor - M.Ed. in Agency Counseling from Lenoir-Rhyne College;
                        Currently pursuing licensure as a LPC in the State of North Carolina.

                        Provided Victim Advocacy for over 20 years, through non-profit agencies
                        as well as Law Enforcement.

                        Serves as the President for North Carolina Victim Assistance Network.
                        Member of NCVAN for 14 years.

                        Past and current Chair for NCVAN Certification Committee.
                        Founding member of NCVAN Academy.
                        Instructor of NCVAN Academy.

                  Professional speaker across North Carolina on various topics.

                        Graduate of UNC - Greensboro with a B.A. in Sociology.

Confidentiality

All counseling is confidential.  Information discussed and disclosed within any counseling sessions and/or telephone contact will remain confidential unless the information discloses danger of harm to self or others, or involves issues of child abuse or neglect.  In either of the above instances, I as a counselor, will be both ethically and legally bound to seek outside intervention as necessary.

Referrals will be made as needed for psychological testing, psychiatric evaluation and/or medications.
